Have you ever been on a ranch vacation? How about a luxury ranch vacation? If you haven't & are thinking about it, we have the place for you!!!

Marlene Leitner just returned from her amazing weekend getaway. As she describes it being “the most wonderful luxury ranch experience she has ever been too.” Marlene loves to travel to beautiful destinations around the world and “The Ranch at Rock Creek” was no different. It was absolutely breathtaking and such a tranquil place for relaxation filled with adventure and delicious gourmet food.

 

The Ranch at Rock Creek is located in the heart of Western Montana in Philipsburg. It is approximately 1 ½ hours from Missoula Airport.  We flew non-stop on Allegiant Air from Los Angeles, California to Missoula, Montana. This was my first experience flying Allegiant Air and would definitely fly them again. Just be warned that there are no frills (you have to purchase coffee, water, sodas, other beverages & snacks).

 

You have some options to choose from in regards to getting to The Ranch at Rock Creek. They will be more than happy to pick you up for a fee or you can rent a car and enjoy the drive to the most spectacular ranch you will go to! We chose to rent a car and it was such an easy, beautiful (traffic FREE!!) drive. The best thing about it is you can drive 75 mph!! WOW! Why can’t we have our roads like that?

 

The Ranch is 10 square miles, approximately 6,600 acres and truly gorgeous.  Accommodations are either in the Granite Lodge, luxury tents or log homes.  All of the accommodations have such a rustic, warm and extremely inviting feel. We stayed in the Granite Lodge where the rooms are adequate, not overly large but very homey feeling.  Although the rooms are beautiful, you really don’t spend much time as you are outside doing activities throughout the day.  

 

Granite Lodge is an existing building, but all of the tents and log cabin homes are newly built. They provide full amenities in all the rooms, i.e., toothbrush, toothpaste, sun screen, bug repellent, feminine products, etc, etc. for each person.

 

Let’s get to the good stuff—FOOD!!! Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are more than wonderful and this is coming from a HUGE foodie. Trying new restaurants and experiencing the ones that people rave about are my favorite!

 

I love a good, tasty meal! The chef has done an amazing job of incorporating fresh (some grown on property) vegetables and fruits into wonderful, exciting and healthy meals. 

 

They honor any food allergies or special requests with no problem. 

 

You have the option to pair wines with their meals or you can choose whatever you wish to drink.  All alcohol is included, except for the premium wines.  They have a wonderful wine selection as well as hard liquor.

 

The activities are abundant! “Our activities program, like everything at The Ranch at Rock Creek, is designed with your individual tastes, preferences, and needs in mind. Everything is included here, and the recreational opportunities are almost limitless.

 

Horseback riding on trails that weave among our 6000+ acres, fly fishing our stretch of Blue Ribbon Rock Creek, fishing our stocked trout ponds, hiking, wildlife watching, mountain biking, sporting clays, archery, paint ball, and games in The Granite Lodge are all popular pursuits.”

If you are in the mood to go swimming in the pool or relax in the warm Jacuzzi, you are more than welcomed to do so! Sometimes the best way to relax is to hit the spa! Here at The Ranch at Rock Creek they have wonderful spa treatments that include: “Swedish deep tissue massage, warm mountain rock treatments, high-tech or all-natural facials, and [their] signature 'Rock Creek Ritual' are always welcome after a vigorous day outdoors. Hair and nail styling is also available to complete guests' luxury ranch vacations.”

 

Being that it’s on a ranch, you would assume they have a “Saloon” and yup, you are correct! They do!! It was so pleasurable in the evening to go to the Saloon, where they have a bar, bowling alley, pool tables, darts, karaoke, and big screen TV.

 

Grabbing a drink and enjoying the night after a fun-filled day was definitely a perfect way to end the evening.

 

The staff is incredible and exceeded our expectations going above and beyond for us. They never seem to say no and are always willing to accommodate your wishes.  The staff is so patient and genuine with each guest that enters their property.

 

Being that it’s an “All-Inclusive” ~ Room, food, alcohol and activities are all included in the rates.  It would behoove you to take part in as many activities as you can. If you are allowed to do and taste it all, you should!

 

Fun, fun, fun…..I couldn’t say enough about this perfect getaway! I’m looking forward to staying here again and highly recommend it for everyone! The Ranch at Rock Creek is a definite place to take a wonderful vacation that is fit for everyone and you’ll be wanting to go back again & again!
