Club Med Ixtapa Pacific (All-Inclusive Resort)Thinking about taking a vacation to Club Med Ixtapa Pacific? I just got back & see what I have to say about it! When I think of Club Med I think of an “All-Inclusive” family vacation, but in reality it’s a vacation for everyone. I have never had the opportunity to experience one until now. As you know, I have been on several cruises and to me, this is exactly like a cruise, but you’re not sailing, you are just staying put. The thing I absolutely love about “All-Inclusive” Vacations are you know exactly what you are getting, everything is included. You don’t need to factor in any extra costs such as food, drinks, tips, etc… ALL INCLUDED! Club Med is truly a hassle free vacation! What more could you want from a vacation?
I recently stayed at Club Med Ixtapa Pacific and all I can say is *WOW*! Club Med seriously has so much to offer. There is no way a person could be bored at this property. Every day they have a schedule that goes out with several different activities to partake in. Even though I only stayed here for one night, I felt like I had been there for a week with everything that I got to do! When I first get to a hotel, I love to just walk around, explore, and see what it has to offer and then venture out. When you arrive at Club Med Ixtapa Pacific, there is great upbeat music playing in the background, the staff greeting you with cold towels and bringing you up to the lobby area for some refreshing lemonade or water while you begin to check-in. The staff is so friendly and so excited for you to at their property. Once I checked into my room, I took out what I needed to take out, took pictures and was off! I explored the property a little as it is HUGE!
I stopped for a bite to eat at El Encanto, which is opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a buffet style but they have chefs cooking things made to order. I’m not a huge buffet person, but it definitely has enough options for a picky eater like myself. What I love about their restaurants is that they have anti-bacterial in front for you to use at all times! El Encanto is huge! They have 5 different themed rooms for you to sit down and enjoy your meal at. The thing I like about Club Med is that the staff wants to get to know the guests and they eat with you at your meals. The Staff is known as GO’s (Gracious Organizers) and we the guests are known as GM’s (Gracious Members). It takes a bit of getting used to but in the end, I think it’s great. They eat, drink, play & socialize with you at all times. It really gets you to get to know them which I think is wonderful for the guests because on Cruise Ships, you can’t socialize with the staff when they are off duty whereas with Club Med, they encourage it. After my delicious lunch, I headed over to change into my bathing suit and relax for a little while. I got into the pool and next thing I know, I was doing a water aerobics’ class with Lauren. Lauren is so bubbly and has such a warm & friendly personality! She truly loves doing what she does and it shows! Right as we were about to finish, 2 GO’s came over with fresh fruit for us! It was such a yummy treat after a great pool work-out—Lauren said this doesn’t always happen, but it was PERFECT timing for us! The fruit in Mexico is amazing—so sweet and refreshing! After I got out of the pool, I went to dry off so I could do the Trapeze!
I was so nervous to try this! After trying the baby trapeze I was ready to go, except… I didn’t know I would be getting up so high! I’m afraid of heights so I was so scared to try this out! After a little hesitation, I climbed up the ladder and started to swing! It was SOO scary, but actually was a quite fun. Would I do it again, probably not, but it was fun for the time being! I mean… I may give it another shot, but I overcame my fear and did it!
Shortly after it was time for dinner! Every night is a different theme (such as dress in all black, all white, beige & tan, funky colors, etc.) and the night I was there it happened to be “black attire” and it was a lovely dinner & show. The show was called, “I Love Paris” it was so entertaining and I absolutely liked it a lot! The dinner was so delicious ~ of course it was fish! The best part of all was the dessert! YUMMY!!!! It was White Chocolate French Toast that tasted exactly like a churro…hmmm I can still taste it and craving it! After the show was over, they took us outside for another party—A DANCE PARTY! This time they had a tower of glasses and poured champagne down them like a waterfall. They passed out the glasses of champagne to everyone, made a toast and lit a huge “IXTAPA 2011” up in flames! It was such a crazy, yet beautiful experience to watch such a thing! After everyone danced the night away!
The staff is amazing! I met some great people both guests and staff. If you’re looking for a great bartender, make sure you go to see Ryan (he’s from Canada, you can’t miss him) he’ll make you whatever you want and it will be delicious! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is a memorable one! Nicole & Irias where so wonderful as well and sure made my stay a memorable one!
This place seriously has something to do for every one of all ages as it can accommodate up to 800 guests. They have a great kids club for all ages (they even take babies as young as 4 months old). They have 3 different areas depending on the ages. Whether you want to sail around in the ocean, relax on the beach, take yoga classes, do water aerobics’, swing from the trapeze, enjoy a relaxing spa treatment, go snorkeling, play tennis or soccer, do some archery you can enjoy it all!
They even have a huge meeting space if you are thinking about bringing a group or have a wedding here.
Other restaurants you can enjoy are: * La Luna Azul: “This restaurant, in the heart of the Resort's gardens, with its wild and eccentric decoration, will offer you original, inventive and refined cuisine. This big hut, situated in the middle of the vegetation, is only open in the evening. Booking the day before in reception. Waiter Service.” *Miramar: “This restaurant offers you a grill menu. Open for late breakfasts, all day dining, and in the evening turns into an Argentinean Steakhouse. A large terrace facing the ocean offers you a relaxing setting. Waiter Service.” * La Sirena: “The restaurant for little ones... In Mini Club Med! Open to children aged from 2 to 11 yrs, this area has been specially created for them. On the menu, balanced meals, activities and entertainment: parents will be jealous!”
The rooms at Club Med are great. “The 298 enlarged rooms, including 15 family suites, offer many comfort options to suit a diversity of needs. All are equipped with flat screen TVs, internet access and high quality amenities. Refurbished bathrooms evoke the 1940s.
All spaces, whether private or shared, create convivial yet tranquil atmospheres to relax body and mind.” The room categories range from Club Room to Deluxe Room to Suites so you will be able to take your pick on which room type best fits your needs. Even though I was only there for 24 hours, it felt like I was there for a lot longer as I got to experience everything in that time frame. If you are looking for a great family vacation, a vacation just for yourself, this is the place! You will be so happy you came! It’s important to always look at the activities sheet in the morning so that you won’t miss out on anything throughout the day and see what you have to look forward to in the evening!
