More on this Great British Journey
by Plaza Travel Consultant, Lainey O'Connell
I recently returned, with Jennifer, from a whirlwind trip to London and the Cotswalds. The British gave us the warmest welcome and were thrilled to hear
American accents. They too are having a difficult economic period, with many
stores closing, etc. However, this isn't keeping the prices down. It is very
beautiful in the countryside with green rolling hills and unbelievably quaint
towns with lots of history, country foods, antiques and smiling faces
everywhere.
A few miles from Bath we were fortunate to stay at Lucknam Park, a completely
restored manor house that can't be beat for comfort, setting, service, etc. Bath
of course, is unique in its Roman ruins still there
and you can feel
Shakespeare all around Stratford.
Airport security was tight, and it took us an extra half hour to go thru
security and have our luggage x-rayed. This surely was one inconvenience we did
not mind. We did feel safe all around. Take Care and keep traveling.
