Of course I’ve always wanted to go to Japan, but…
I recently was able to enjoy 2 nights at the Capella in Georgetown, Washington DC. For those of you who haven’t been to DC in a while, Georgetown is a great place to stay. The Capella is located 1 block off Wisconsin Avenue and a block away from the Georgetown Waterfront Park. Wisconsin Avenue is a great street to walk along, shop or eat. The Waterfront Park, also, has some great places to eat, and both areas are less than a 1 minute walk from the hotel.
The arrival experience and reception staff is great. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we felt welcomed and everyone was really friendly. What impressed me most was that whoever you were speaking with actually walked with you to where you were headed. For example, when we spoke to the Concierge, she not only answered our questions, but walked out the front door with us just to make sure we were all set.
Gail and I really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were great, just as you would expect at a great luxury hotel. We spent one afternoon at the roof top pool. Although the pool is not too big, it’s a perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day. There are some great couches to sit and have a drink while looking over the city. The restaurant and bar are right on the canal and a wonderful place to have a late lunch, dinner or hang out at the bar either inside or outside.
The Capella is a great option for a smaller, more intimate hotel that clients will really enjoy.
