Travel Trends – April 2022

As COVID protocols and policies seem to be disappearing every day, travel continues to pick up. With two years of pent up demand we have many clients not only planning their next vacation, but planning their next two or three. As airports, hotels and cruise ships continue to fill, prices are going up and availability is diminishing. Now is definitely the time to make sure you not only start thinking about your next few destinations and vacations, but also time to secure those reservations so you won’t be disappointed later.

Many of you may not have traveled in the last few years and are ready to go, but still have a bit of concern. I can tell you from firsthand experience – and reports from many of our clients – that once you get back out there, you might notice that the concern, anxiety and fear quickly go away. While so many properties, cruise lines and airlines focus on getting staff back and trained (or retrained), travel does require a bit more patience and planning. Even in light of COVID protocols going away, some advanced planning is still required. We are well versed and have tools that keep us as informed as possible.

Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean and the lower 48 states continue to be in great demand, but people are returning to planning travel to Europe – especially Italy, Greece and Great Britain – along with Africa. Not only are we seeing a great increase in travel this summer and fall, but also well into next year and beyond. Many cruise lines are releasing itineraries for 2024, and our clients are booking now to ensure they have the cabin of their choice and the best rates available. Remember, you can always take advantage of fare reductions once you have a reservation, but you can’t get a rate from the past, or a cabin (or hotel room) if everything is sold out.
