Love, Life and Elephants by Daphne Sheldrick
One of my favorite books is Love, Life and Elephants by Daphne Sheldrick. I read it because I was going to the David Sheldrick Elephant Rescue in Nairobi and wanted to know the history behind them. This is an amazing book that tells the story of how this wonderful organization came to be, the struggles encountered along the way, and the ultimate success that is now being enjoyed. After reading this book, you’ll be ready to quit your job, move to Kenya, and help take care of these beautiful animals. I immediately adopted an elephant named Kuishi for only $50 a year which anyone can do. This helps towards the rescue and care for all of the elephants. When traveling to Kenya I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful organization. If you adopt an elephant, you’re able to visit not only your elephant but see the other babies when they bring them in for feedings.

Looptail by Bruce Poon Tip
Looptail is a fantastic book written by Bruce Poon Tip that tells the personal story of how he started G Adventures and its give back approach. He is a global leader in sustainability who had a desire to create a sustainable vacation experience and change the world through travel. The rest of the title is “How one company changed the world by reinventing business.” The same principles that are discussed in the book can be applied to life, not just business. Readers are given insight into many aspects of running a business, and living a meaningful life, that can easily be put into practice at home. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in making the world a better place.
