Stuck in traffic at LAX? Read about important updates below.

With construction at nearly every terminal at LAX (either completed or planned over the next five yeras), we can expect there to be continuous routing and traffic updates as it relates to ground transportation. And here’s one new one for you! Beginning October 29, 2019 at 3:00pm, LAX will be reconfiguring the ground transportation waiting areas within the Central Terminal Area. Please note a couple highlights from the reshuffling below:

1. All lower level inner roadway locations are being repurposed and will no longer be available for car service, limousines, and privately owned vehicles drop-offs/pick-ups. These services will be still be able to access the Lower/Arrivals level section of LAX but will be using the outer commercial curbs. These zones will be identified by overhead signage and white painted curbs. Important: passenger drop-off will still be available on the Upper/Departures level of LAX.
2. Taxi, UBER, and Lyft: Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts will no longer be available to pick up passengers curbside at LAX. Instead, any traveler looking to take a taxi, Uber, or Lyft will be required to hop on the new LAX-it shuttle from the main terminal to the LAX-it parking lot located near Terminal 1. From this new parking lot, passengers will be able to depart in their taxi, Uber, or Lyft.
